Name removal

Postby Riverrat » Wed Feb 13, 2019 2:53 pm

This is probably an archived topic somewhere, but I couldn't find any reference to it via the "search" feature. So.....how do I, or is it even possible to, remove the previous owners name from the limbs of my new to me BW bow?

Without damaging the finish, I'd say no. You can send it in to BW and they can remove it and refinish the limbs. You can also put a BW sticker over the name. ............Uncle Jim

X2 Uncle Jim
They sell a Black Spider on a Red Oval Sticker, Part # 822 for $1 to cover the name of the first owner if you desire.
Was talking to Roger about this just last week. All the lettering / web is inked right to the fiberglass, then the finish is applied.
I've only changed the name on the one Diamond Anniversary on the other thread, but like I noted, it looked like it dragged down a road, so no big decision not to have it refinished.
Not sure if Widow could do a "spot refinish" on that big of area. That would a question for Roger or Toby.
Sincerely,
Hawk

Yeah, if the finish is in good shape a one dollar sticker is a cheap fix.

I’ve removed a couple off widows by using a very fine steel wool and light pressure, you will need to respray that small area with a satin clear.. you couldn’t tell anything had been done when finished
