29” draw 60” or 62” ptf

Postby Philip72 » Thu Sep 12, 2019 12:32 am

Going to order a new ptf Friday and just thinking about ordering a 60” bow instead of a 62” with a 29” draw. Just don’t know what direction to go. Just wondering what everybody thoughts are.
( Have 2 62” psa’s now). Thanks for your time

PTF Series
Recommended Limb Lengths
(draw measured from string to far side of shelf) 23" to 27" Draw - 56" Limbs
25" to 29" Draw - 58" Limbs
27" to 31" Draw - 60" Limbs
29" to 33" Draw - 62" Limbs
At your draw length you may decide to opt for the shorter limb that is a little more maneuverable or for the longer limb that is slightly more comfortable. The decision is yours.

According to this I would go with the 60" in order to get the full potential out of the limb curves. But, that being said, It's all about personal preference. ..........Uncle Jim

Agree with Uncle Jim.
IMO,
It been best to stay away from the ends of the recommended draw lengths and IF POSSIBLE, get a bow length that you drawing 50-80% of the range.
In this case, the 60" length.
Since you already have 62" PSAs you may want that length. A PTF is basically a one piece PSA without the riser horns of a T/D PSA or one piece PA.
Depends a lot on draw weight as well. Heavier draw weight, some guys like the longer recommended length.
The long standing answer from BW has always been, when in doubt between two recommended lengths, go with the longer one.

I might would go with the 60 inch, it would be a fine hunting bow.
