Thanks to Ken Beck! - Mike Bolin

Last night was our church's first Wild Game Dinner....I say first because it was a resounding success. Ken Beck was our guest speaker. Ken shared his faith, stories of Black Widow and a few of his hunting adventures and had the full attention of the audience. We are already planning for next year's dinner and one of the non-hunting ladies from the church asked...."how can we ever get a better speaker? Do you think he will come back?! Thanks to Ken, Roger and the folks at Black Widow for helping us out along the way, we couldn't have pulled this off without your help. Igot a call today from one of the attendees that brought his two boys along. First thing this morning the boys wanted to watch their new Black Widow dvd......they watched it twice!

I would have liked to have been there. Ken Beck is not only a gentlemen and a man of God, he is a good example of showing is faith by his actions and the way he treats people.

That's great!! Mr. Beck is a man that I'd definitely love to meet. When I ordered my first Widow in '95, I spoke to Mr. Beck and with the info that I gave him, he came up with the specs for a bow. When it came, he sent a nice hand written note. I thought that was awesome!! When I ordered my KB X in Oct, I really wanted to fly out there and meet him. The air fare was way to much for me from NY to MO.

Ken Beck is one of the best and a true Gentleman. In 2001 I was stationed at Ft Lenard Wood, MO. A friend and I were off one Saturday, so we decided to take trip to Nixa MO. To Black Widow. About a two to three hour drive to the plant. Upon arrival we discovered the place was closed. My friend got the phone number off the door and called. He spoke to Mr. Beck, shortly there after Mr. Beck showed up, opened up the plant / Store. Gave us a complete guided tour throughout the location. He explained in detail every process and step of making a Black Widow Bow. Should us his entire personal collection of Bows from different Bowyers. Shared the story of the loss of his son. My partner had also just recently lost his son. We would later learn that Mr. Beck was entertaining Family and Guest from out of town, yet This Wonderful Christian Man put all of that Aside and responded to the request of two Soldiers / strangers on a phone Call. And that Gentlemen is the reason I'm a black Widow owner. Because this kind man moved me with that kind generosity. His sermon wasn't preached, it was lived. Luke ch:6-36, says you must be compassionate, just as your Father is Compassionate. He was every bit of that, Thank You KB.

A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to talk with Ken Beck for a while about bowhunting, bows, and faith in God. Being a dedicated Christian and a preacher myself, I enjoyed that talk. I would like to sometime sit in on one of his "Christian Sportsman"-type presentations. I also have nothing but praise for the rest of the Black Widow Company. I've never talked with the current leadership specifically about faith, but I have found them to have integrity and to be very respectful and supportive in the company and conversation of those with faith in the God of the Bible. Thank you! "Blessed is the nation [and company?] whose God is the Lord."

This is a great thread.Have never talked with Mr.Beck but always admire a man who is not shy about his faith in God. I believe it shows very well in the present day Black Widow Company and the way the guys conduct themselves and their business . God bless.
