Top limb making noise. - Darren J.

I bought a used SA II, and the top limb makes a snapping/clicking noise while drawing back. I'm afraid of over tightening the limb bolts. It happens with the original bolts and with the antler burl bolts I made with bolts purchased from BW. I also replaced the O rings and put some wax on the limb pins. Still happening. I think its in the limb bolt hole? Should I tighten them a little more? Any help would be appreciated.

Before I did anything, I would call Roger at BW and get his input.

Thanks Toejammer for the info, I was leaning that way but didn't want to bother the guys at BW considering I purchased it used. I should have just had one made, rather then save a few bucks.

Darren-I had that before too. Try putting a small amount of Vaseline or wax on the friction spots where there riser and limbs mount. You will see the spots, they will appear as very shiny.

I had this as well, I could feel slight "tick" in riser at time of click. Took bow to BW and they simply tightened limb bolts. I had used torque wrench and tightened to proper inch pounds . The bows told me they were to loose. Hope this helps

Thanks term, I don't think there loose. When I say I didn't want to over tighten them I ment it cause I cranked on them pretty good. But thank you.

Same thing happened after I bought my used PSAIII.. The click made me feel like I had bought a defective bow... I put wax in the alignment holes of the limbs and it got rid of the noise. I haven't had any issues with it since then.
