Got a tried & true model? - Buckshotap

New bow coming up. PSA, KB, PSR, PL ? Got a PCHX. I've had all 4 at one time or another. Doesn't make the choice any easier! Leaning toward PSR or PL. Please share your favorite of the 4 & why. Maybe I could get some sleep.

Have had just about every model at one time or another from the early 80's to present except the KB My all time favorite with out question is the PTF: stable accurate and great balance; also very nice looking at present I have 3 of them; one is my rough hunting bow, other 2 for stump shooting and target shooting; hard hitting great hunting bow, not too heavy to tote all day I like the PSR that I have; but harder to shoot as accurately, but a good shooting bow (wouldn't likely get another) My second favorite is the PL (so close to the PTF would probably classify as 1 and 1a); have been a longbow shooter most of my life and the longbow just suits me; my personal records show that 3/4 of my game collected was with a longbow (probably just because I have hunted with one for so much of my hunting) still I think my PTF's would be the last to go if I had to limit down to one bow Just can't see not having both

Appreciate the help! I think the PSR I had was probably harder for me to shoot consistently than the others. Don't know why. Never had a PTF but think I will check it out now that you brought it up. I too liked the PL & took a nice 8 pt with it. Another ? is TD or 1 pc. The PL I had was a 1pc.. Tend to lean toward a TD but that would rule out a KB.??? Darn! Wish I could afford one of each. Looks like it's another Rainy Night in Georgia!

Guess it would have to be a Rainy Night in MO since that's where I live. It is tonight. Getting use to this new site format. Not so bad after all. By the way, I saw a picture of Roger in this month's Traditional Bowhunters Magazine. He sure looked like a turkey......hunter with a PCH.

My favorite is the PL, followed by the PSR. I shoot this style bow with a low wrist with excellent accuracy without effort, but have no problem switching between these two and my PTF or PMA. The only Widow I could not shoot consistently was the SAG, for some reason I could never achieve a consistent hand placement well enough from one day to another.

Just got back from Nixa. Shot bows for 2 + hrs. & decided on a PLX, 62", 51#, Spalted Maple/Shedua riser. Now comes the wait! Got to see Ken Beck also. Always a pleasure. Widow workers were hard at it cranking out bows.
