arm slap with the pl - Chad n.

I get arm slap with the PL. It doesn't matter what poundage I shoot. However I do not have this problem with other longbows. I have tried the Toby grip and the standard grip. Anybody else have this problem?

Move your bow grip a little to the left (if you are right handed) and see if that helps.

Slapping your arm with one bow and then not another has been going over my head for well over 55 years. I WILL NOT TRY LITTLE TRICKS like rolling my elbow, bending you elbow slightly, gripping different, etc., when i do not do any of that with other bows. During my early days i would shoot Bear bows, Pearson, Howard Hill, and many others, and no problems whatsoever...i did not even use an arm gaurd back then. When it came to one of my favorites..."Damon Howatt Super Diablo, it would slap me to no end. I had to use an arm gaurd then but it would make that bow slap happy when it hit the arm gaurd. I kept it for some years but finally let it go. I am not going to try to hold my jaw just right(perse) to remedy that problem. If a bow STILL slaps my arm after final tune and correct brace height.....goodby. It is a mystery to me when that bows slaps my arm, and not slap my friend's arm shooting the same bow. No we do not put our bow arm shoulder into it. We both shot FITA during our young days, and we did have SOME? good form. LOL! If you figure it out please post your results....many of us would appreciate it, and the mystery would be solved.
