Touching up limbs - Killshot

Hi everybody, just wanted to show you the before and after pictures of the glue residue I removed from my limbs. If you have any small dings or scratches you can lightly sand them out too. I started with 220 grit and finished with 400 finishing grit and 0000 steel wool. You can go to a 600 grit but I found 400 was adequate. To restore the luster and polish it I used Minwax paste finishing wax. What do you think?

Just a thought. If those limbs have a clear glass finish, that minwax will never get to the wood. It will just sit on the surface and collect dirt. Eventually it will be sticky and gummy feeling. I use armor all to clean and give my PLX some UV protection. Wood preserving and treatment products won't do any good on a glass (epoxy) surface.

The Minwax is the paste finishing wax. It's like a light cut polish. It restores the shine to an epoxy surface after sanding. It's designed for wood products that have already been sealed.

The limbs sure look good. Sounds like you've got it all under control. Enjoy shooting!
