Re: one piece Bows - Bow Collector

How many of you characters prefer a one piece bow over a take down and which do you think shoots better, i.e. , smoother, draws easier and so on. I would like to hear from as many as possible. Also how many have one piece, PAX or KBX ?

My first Black widow was a take down MA II I got back in the early 80's, and then got the one piece MA , and have had the onepiece models every since, TF, SAG (did not like that one), PSR , PL; Had a PA and it was a very nice bow, but like the lighter weight and balance of the PTF, much better ; I feel that the one piece( feels better and definately looks better in my mind) : like a one piece fly rod casts nicer than a 2 piece and much better than a 4 piece My favorites by far are the PTF and PL

the PL is my equal favorite to the PTF; shoot both one piece PTF & PL back and forth with no problems

Ordered my first an MAIII t/d in 1994 , I have owned 9 BW recurves since then , all models except The PTF and PSR ( have one on order) and my favorite is the 60" PAX. I like the mass weight and they seem the smoothest on the draw for me. That being said I love the PLX ( have 2) and will plan on getting a PSRX in the future.

I have a couple PSA's and one PAX , the PAX is identical to one of the PSA's in grip , length and draw weight, and I really like the PAX it just has a great look to it.. it seems about equal in feel of the draw but is lighter in hand and seems to take a little stiffer arrow than the PSA , but is a little more difficult to get quiet then the PSA, in 07 I had a PGA and in a real DA move sold it, I just couldn't get it quiet enough in my opinion. But I have learned some since then and have this PA as quiet as my longbow... A one piece bow is really what I love, but a practical man would probably go with a take down due to the obvious reasons of being able to just change limbs for weight changes, ease of travel and the take down has a little more mass weight to it..

i like the 1 piece bows, they are lighter and just look beautiful.longbows have dignity. only draw back is a lighter one piece bow wanders more when you are shooting it (recurve) IMO.

One piece bow

Well I'm happy to hear these opinions but I guess it will rest with where I go for lightness or stability. I really like the PCHX or KBX model those would be my choices
