Anyone have the older MA recurve. What are the pros and cons of the older models. Yves

I don't have one currently, however in the past that was the bow I choose to shoot. If I could find a 50 @ 28-60 inch Left handed MA with the old scrimshaw medallion I would seriously consider buying it. The newer generation of Black Widows are real nice, but in my opinion the older bows are right there with them.

Them widows from the late 80's early 90's are tops in my opinion. I love the new ones also so take it for what its worth. Just picked up a AO one piece that is a real shooter . Even the the HS with the metal handle is hard to beat plus the prices are usually very good if you are patient.

I've got two older MAIII's - a 92 & 93. One is 46@28 and the other is 48@28. Both are 62" bows. I've owned a few MA's and PMA's but those two older MA's are two bows I will never part with. I don't know what it is but I've shot (and continue to shoot) those older MA's much better than anything newer. I love those bows. They'll go to my grandkids a few years.

I too like the older 90's Widows, have a MAB that they will have to pry my cold frozen hands off when I Die. Have owned several MA's from that era, and yes the limbs are narrower at the tips, which made them prone to twisting, personally never had any problems! It also made them smoother, and faster, although only by a few fps not enough to matter! just saying my opinion, based on my testing! Not taking anything away from the Widows now, I have a KB3, and PchX love em both!

I bought my first Widow in 1989,MA3,62",51 lbs at 28". I made some great memories with this bow and had it refinished , weight reduced to 46 lb and bullsnake skins added. BW did this for me several years ago and I regret not doing this sooner. The bow is now super awesome!

Had my first BW made in '87. It was an MA. Much prefer the newer stuff, looks less blocky and is FF capable.
