Cape buffalo and arrow help - DennySturgisJr

I just got everything micro tuned for a hunt this Summer. 85#@ 28" PLX, 850 grain carbon arrow. It is shooting bullet holes thru the paper at 6'. Paper don't lie. :) The problem is I am using Carbon Tech Safari 70/90 shafts and they don't make them anymore. I can probably get by with what I have, but another dozen or half dozen would be nice. If you see any in your travels I would appreciate a heads up. I've been around Cape buffalo but never had an opportunity to hunt them and it a dream hunt for sure. I have hunted water buffalo several times in Australia and always had a blast stalking in close.

you can put some fletching on tobys feet and shoot him but now now now if you use roger you need to go to a heavier bow.hehe

Willie, you are really asking for it!! Hope you don't have a bow on order. Talked with Chuck Adams a few times & he was trying to work up to a 100# compound for a buff hunt at one time. I think Fred Eichler used his usual 54# Buffalo bow.??

Denny, can't help with your arrow predicament ... But can offer my best wishes on the new adventure ... If you took out our Aussie 'buff , their effeminate African counterparts won't be a problem !!! .... Lol Look forward to the story ...

Denny, just curious as to what broadhead you are using?

Rupert, I have a bunch of FMJ 250 dangerous game shafts, but they are too weak in spine for the weight I'm looking for with this bow. With the CT shafts I'm using a 235 grain Grizzly head to get a perfect tune. All my old buffalo arrows are tomato stakes thanks to Rod Jenkins. :) Thanks a lot Rod.

Hey Denny, I have some real Big game shafts! These were made by Easton for Golden Key Futura some years ago. They are XX75 24-40's and the bare shaft (33 1/4 ) weighs 976 grs. You would have to get out your 100lb er. Good Hunting, Jerry
