Nice looking risers, but I do miss the red. The red stripe has been around such a long time with one material or another, it's like the logo is missing.

looks OK , but kinda like the red, Espically in my Yew and cocobolo PTF and PL (the overall woods have a reddish cast and the red sets it off for me)?

Tormented thinking about getting a PSRX with myrtle burl limbs & myrtle (and zircote ?) in the riser with no red. Can myrtle burl be used in the riser?

Some guys like the red, some don't. Having shot Widows for what seems like forever, I still like the red. It's one of those things that make a Widow a Widow. 8~)

One of the good things about BW bows is variety & options, options, options. I doubt RED will ever be dead. I like red. Both my current bows have red.

I like the look. One of my favorite longbows is black with a white stripe and it is very classy.

I wonder where these bows went? I'm thinking of ordering a PCHIII similar to the one in the pic and would like to see the riser with the limbs.

Never have I ever seen one of those.....A Black Widow (Black Widow?) without red. Black & Red, that is just the way it has always been. If I owned Black Widow I would make every single one of them with that ever so recognizable red hour glass at the throat of the grip.

Dittos on gotta have red. No red is like a Coke in a green can, or a round bottle. Don't mess with your brand.

Recurve, Red aint about shootin, it's about marketing. Building a brand is hard work and costly. That red strip says Black Widow from a hundred feet. Ever see a white hour glass on a real black widow?

Sorry Guys all be more difinitive in my frame of thought in my post on RED. Copius loss of something valuable that pumps profusely on the ground from a Black Widow. When ones good with his Widow Reds a non-issue. LOL!!! Wow I'll be a little more clearer in the future. So Funny

Recurve. Your main problem was that you didn't realize you were talking to a Texan. Here's how to tell a Texan, Tell him twice, and tell him real slow!! I get it now.

LOL!! Recurve, Nleroux2 forgot to mention that in due case that you are not able to tell a Texan face to face...twice and slow, then he needs to read it twice, and slow as well. AND I have to confess that I just read it once..... AND fast. LOL!! My most sincere apologies my friend.

Well Guys it's been very interesting to say the least in this one posting on RED. After Nleroux brought up the subject of the red hour glass as a Brand I became very intersted in trying to find out when Widow first started using red to make the hourglass risers. I made couple phone calls to close friends who shot with me back in the early 80's who owned widow bows and ask about this subject of RED. I ask them both about the red hour glass and both guys stated Ken Beck didn't offer red in the risers back in the early years of his MA model the question I have to all you older Widow shooters is when did red come into play in Widow risers and when did the red hourglass make its dayview in Widow grips.
