Camo Dipped Bows - Killshot

Hi Everybody, I was curious to know how many of you out there have had your Black Widows camo dipped by Black Widow or custom dipped somewhere. Who did it for you and what you think of the results. If you could post a picture, that would be great.

I haven't done it yet, but I've been sorely tempted. When I looked into the options, Jim Crumley site in Roanoke, Va looked the most promising. That was mostly because they stripped the bow of any old paint and finish as part of the fee. Their pricing and turn around was attractive as well. You'll probably get some incredulous responses about covering up pretty wood. I appreciate pretty wood, period; but.... I have to say, for an older "well seasoned" hunter bow ...... well why not! Just no skulls! ... :) Good luck. Steve

Thanks, Tine Tickler, those bows look great. Will keep those guys in mind. I have an HF I thought about getting done. This is an MAB I bought from a guy in AK. He said it was painted, nice job whoever did it. Looks like a Realtree Predator pattern. This one is a 1984 model. It's quite light weight compared to the newer hardwood models. Would be interesting to know what type of wood this one is underneath the paint. What about flexing? Does the paint stand up to the limbs flexing? I heard they can use flex additives.

I've had no issues at all with flexing, the MAB is a 92, and I had it dipped in 2002. Ive shot it a bunch! That is a pretty nice paint job on your MAB!

I may send this HF to your guys. Do they strip the original factory paint or finish off first before they dip it?

I'm not sure, I would just give them a call, they are very occmadating I filled some holes, and sanded them down on my HF. I think they lightly sand it , and then spray with a base coat? I don't remember. It probably says on there web site. Ive also heard good things about Crumleys. I chose Northwest because they are closer to me here in ND.
