Maine Bear Hunting - Squapan

First of all we would like to take this time to wish. everyone happy and safe Holidays this season. We all have alot to be thankful for. Now I'd like to give everyone an update on the 2014 Squapan/Widow fall bear hunt. We have some spots booked, some spoken for, and a few still open.So If you would like in on this hunt please let us know. And for those of you who emailed us to hold a spot please contact us for deposit options. (After the holidays Is fine). On a good note we were able to build another guest cabin late this fall. Still a little work to be done this winter on the inside, But for the most part is close to being done. Its our couples cabin. Inspired by Roger R. But dedicated to my Good friend Joe Nimmer who we lost this past year! To me this will be the Nimmer cabin. Now for the hardest part! It is true that our bear hunting rights are under attack! The anti's are bringing a bill back to referendum to ban all methods of bear hunting Nov 2014. As sports man we have to raise 2.5 million to fight this. We did it in 2004 and one by a slim 6%. These people have endless pockets unlike us the sportsman. Hunting in Maine is almost a Billion dollar industry. More than logging and most of that in northern Maine. It would mean the loss of a couple thousand jobs. And kill the economy in Maine. We will win Because we have sience on our side. We have more bears than 10 years ago and the summer nusense is 3 time higher than 04. It proves we need to controll them. Lynn and I are committed to the fight. We are going very involved over the next year. We are asking that if anyone wanting to donate to this cause please call or email us and get more info. Lynn and I will be giving portions of all our Hunts from 2013 and 2014. We are going to fight to make sure 2014 is not our last Black bear season in Maine. God bless Tony Squapan Mountain outfittersc38060

Take heart Tony. We here in Ontario, Canada, lost our spring bear hunt as a result of an industrial magnate anti-hunter who had met with our conservative premier. That rich boy threatened to spend millions of dollars in key ridings unless the bear hunt was banned. The premier gave in and banned the spring hunt. Subsequent governments made no changes. However, we now have a liberal government that is on the verge of capsizing. In a bid to shore up its northern popularity, the government just announced a limited spring hunt for 2014 in certain ridings. This as a result of an incredible increase in bear populations/human interactions. Aren't politics marvellous?
