Long day tomorrow - Buckshotap

4 hr. drive to Nixa tomorrow. On the road at 4:30 am. BW best hide a lot of bows so I don't wear all of them out. Need a few left for the test drivers. Look out pocket book when I walk in & breathe in a breath of their addictive air. Are BW bows tax deductible?

Made a note to ask Toby about the yew but I may lose all control & cognitive ability when I walk through the door! Yes, I'm expecting a horrible day for my pocket book. Can't take a sandwich & have enough $ for 2 bows. Need to lose more weight anyway.

Walked in the door at BW this morning about 8:45. First thing I saw besides Roger was the Zircote/Myrtle Burl PCHX that Toby posted a picture of on another thread. It looks even better in person. Have had several BWs over the years & this is without a doubt the best looking one of all. I brought it home as the specs. were just right for me. They also had a PLX that was a winner so it jumped into my truck also! Tried to give it back but it wouldn't go. Hope I get a tax refund!!

PLX will be shipped tomorrow or Wed.. They had to put a beavertail grip on it which involves soaking it to soften it up & then install on the bow. Will try to remember to post a picture of both bows. I'm still in shock!

Asked Toby about yew as you described. He said he would have to check but I never heard back from him. They were pretty busy. Might want to give him a call.

It could certainly have been worse lol.. Did you check for any stowaways? I hear iron wood has been known to hide in truck beds...

If any more bows had hitched a ride, I would have to go to the welfare office for food stamps! Oh, I forgot that I got a big 1 1/2% increase in my Social Security for 2014. Let's see. My check is about $98 & they keep that for Medicare so I guess it doesn't matter. ( Had a private retirement system & didn't pay in much SS. )

Hey Buckshotap, the bow you bought is a beauty. I had the privilege to test drive that bow over the weekend just this week. Was debating on poundage just like you. That PCH is smooth as butter. Had it for two days and shot a rabbit and a squirrel with it. Ended up going with one almost exactly like it in Black and White Ebony. Cograts, it's an amazing bow. It's funny it caught your eye, I put it right on the hook where everyone would have to drool over it!

So, it's your fault it jumped at me right off! Thanks! Saw a white & ebony they had in the back. It may have been your bow. I can see why you like that combo. Every time I go there I see bows I want. That's what makes a choice so hard. Saw a really nice PLX but it was sold.

PCHX is crying to be shot today & PLX is scheduled for delivery but we have snow on top of ice. It's still snowing like crazy! May have to go to my 10 yd. range in the garage. Can't stand all the crying.

Missouri brother Buckshotap, I too leave in Mo. I know what your going thru. I am more towards the center of the state, we didn't get the ice or as much snow but damn its cold. I guess I'll start shooting in the basement. Have fun with your new bow.

Been snowing all day! Still snowing hard. As soon as the PLX is delivered today (I hope), I'll post a couple snowy pictures, shooting in the snow. Writing a new song to rival Jim Bowman. Bows & snows!

Sweet looking bow Iam sure it shoots just as good as it looks. And yes, you must be very dedicated to be out in those conditions,I to live in Mo. and know just how cold it was not to mention the ice and snow. Have fun and watch those squirrels.

I guess we all have a tendency to say our bow shoots really good but this one seems to be a very good shooter. Watched Byron Ferguson's "Tuning For Extreme Accuracy" again. If you need a good source for tuning trad bows, this DVD is very good. Ever hear about "nodes"? Got it tuned up & shooting where I look. Had a PCHX before & it shot good but this one seems even better. Guess Toby & the BW workers put a little more MAGIC in this one. Practiced in the snow & cold again yesterday. If it shoots spot on in those conditions, it's got to shoot even better in fair weather. Must be the good looks (bow not me) working on my head. Have had several BW's in the past few yrs.. This one is the best looking, best shooting, & it's a definite keeper. PLX due in this afternoon. Guess I'll have to use the garage again to tune it. Still cooold & ice/snow covered here. Remember to practice & hunt like you mean it! Except when the ice keeps you from getting to the woods.
