How Many Black Widows??? - GILBERT

Did any of you folks read the thread " You favorite Black Widow-Why??", where "Scooter Trash" said that he had 10 Black Widows????. (Braggart!..just kidding). I have 5, and that is nowhere near to be able to beat him. The only man that comes to mind is "Ray", that might out do him. Anybody else out there? How many do you have, and what models?

PLX Osage, PGA, XLA, CJ, 2 Silver Anniversary MA, AO (one piece), 2 HF 1225, H 1200. I don't mean to brag, I just been collecting for a while. I'm sure there are a lot of guys that have or have had more. Ray comes first to mind.

Hey Greybark, your comment does not leave much to argue with....BUT!!!!, if there is such a thing that does hold truth here, is in fact the quantity of quality...HA! HA!.

As of last week I have two. PMA II's 1-62"-50#@30" and 1-64"-58#@30" that I "adopted" from the same man who sold me his Great Plains SR Swift a couple of years back. I am really enjoying them so far, having a hard time choosing my favorite. Leaning toward the 58# 64" one with my 28-29" draw length. I may trade the shorter for a longbow.

Denny it won't make 53#, the bow was orifinally made ofr Ron LaClair and has his name on it. It was marked 62#@28 but Toby said it scaled right at 64#. That was fine with me until arthtitis in the neck reduced my draw strength so it went in for a reduction and refinish. It came out at 58# which I had hoped to be able to reach again but never have, so it still sits packed up in its box. It is better looking with the new frost finish than when it had the old Splatter Web finish.

As near as I cam recall have owned 28 Widows. Owned and shot all models with The PL being my favorite. At present I own just 2, a PLX and a PSRX. The std plx grip just fits me the best. Could shoot all of them pretty well but have to mess around with hand placement on the grip, if that makes sense, when hunting don't want to have to think too much before taking a shot. A couple of years ago had to switch to left handed and sold all of my right handed bows. Denny Sturgis Sr

Wasn't gonna admit it, but if Dsturgessr has had 28; I don't feel too guilty Since the 80's i have had at least 14; now have 3 PTF's 3 PL's and a PSR differ in that I like the Toby grip on the PL & PSR models and the standard grip on the PTF's Have tried them all (except the KB) and the PTF is my favorite recurve and the PL is probably my favortie overall but I do shoot the PTF's with better pinpoint accuracy (targets), Hunting the PL does fine accuracy wise-in fact perferr it

Ok Ill play I have 3 HS's , 1 MA III, 1 MB , 1 PSA, 1PCH, 2 crown jewels,2 AO III one pieces 1 PA III ,1PTFX, and one PGA oh and a x-99 vintage. And I feel like I am forgetting something . I feel a little silly but the crazy thing is I shoot em all regularly. Sold a PSR I wish I would have kept. When I see somebody selling an exotic wood like Mr. McLendons black and white ebony I can't help but think my god man have you lost your mind. Sometimes I feel like Im running a rescue shelter for widows. If it isn't a lefty or if it doesn't have the low wrist grip Im interested. Its a sickness Im done now.

Well... I need to "edit" my previous post... I still have the SA III with 2 sets of limbs, but they are both 58" now... Also have a MA II with 2 sets of limbs, 2 PCHX's, a PSAX, and a PSR II T/D... So what is that... Six??? Also working a possible trade for another PSAX...

BWs and shootin' irons, I'd love to have one for every different purpose, but as I get older the more I think I should do with less. Took the old HS out tonight, thought about selling it..............but that tank just feels too good. Hmmmm, might end up with 2 BW's after all ;) Told the ol' lady with her new job there better be an order for a PCH.
