New PSA! - Pete B.

I was happy to see the email come across from UPS yesterday. Called and spoke with Roger and he confirmed my PSA-V is on the way. Should be here in beautiful California by next Wed. Can't wait to shoot it. I hope I can figure out how to tune arrows properly!

Pete, that is one good looking bow. I never get tired of seeing a brand new Black Widow bow just made. It is like watching a new born baby every time. Congrats, and enjoy for many years. Like "Dances with Wolves" was asked about his pipe by his indian friend..."How does it smoke?"...How does it shoot. Have you shot it yet. Give us a report on how it does for you.

Gilbert -- thanks. It is really amazing how beautiful these bows are. These guys know what they're doing. I guess building & improving these bows for 50+ years has something to do with it... I finally shot it today with a buddy of mine who helped me try to tune some arrows. I got a Carbon Express 250 test shaft and cut it down quite a bit, but it looks like it's not quite stiff enough unless I drop the tip weight too low, and I want to keep the arrow weight at a minimum of 10 gpp. So I ended up shooting some 2216s I've had for years and interestingly they seemed to shoot very well out of it. I will continue to try to figure out how to get a good carbon arrow recipe for this.

Hey Pete B , many years of enjoyment ahead of you with a great choice of bow . Cheers from the West Coast of Canada...

Hey Greybark - much appreciated! I shot it some more today and it feels great. I need to build a little more strength since this is an increase in draw weight from my old recurve, but I'm feeling good about getting there. Also need to figure out the right arrow weight/spine. Cheers to you as well from the US west coast!

Try some V6 VForce Carbons By Victory Archery, it's what I'm shooting out of my PSA III THEY ARE KILLERS ! I get Beautiful Groups with them and man are they smoking out of my Widow. Say we're in Calif is it Beautiful, if you don't mind my asking, it's all city, concrete, and freeways as I remember! Way to many people.

It's definitely a little crowded in the cities, but it's not a bad place to live either. I'm fortunate in that I live very near the beach, so I have clean air and good surf fishing nearby. Here's a pic. I'm having a hard time tuning arrow. I've been trying with a CE 250 and can't seem to dial it in. Maybe I'll try the gold tips.

Pete, congrats on your new bow. Even though I haven't shot all the BW recurves the PSA is my hands down favorite! Enjoy. Denny

Hey Pete, I too have a PSA, albiet III. Love it. Actually looking for similar weight PSAX. Also mine is 45@28. Much testing indicates that my 3355 Gold Tips are correct for this weight. You think you will definately need 5575 Gold Tips unless you add weight to the back of the shaft for 52#. And I also live in Calilfornia and next to the beach. I agree way too many people. But with the desert, mountains and beach all being within 45 minute drive, we have a lot of escape routes. The bummer is that getting into good hunting means getting further away.

Wannaarcher -- Thanks. Yeah, these are really nice bows. I can't believe how fast it shoots. I've been bare shaft testing with a couple CE 250s and I've come to the conclusion I have to cut them too short to get the right spine with a 175-grain point. So I just ordered a CE350 and a GT5575 tuning shaft yesterday. The GT system is cool since it will allow me to make the arrow as heavy as I need and still have the right spine. We'll see how it works out. I live in the South Bay. Great surf fishing nearby, and upland bird hunting is only a couple hours away in the high desert (see pic). Deer is another story...

Stilhaus Kitchens Reviews. Stilhaus Kitchens really are the safest kitchen company to go with as they do everything from start to finish and only ask for payment after completion.
