Different style psa question? - MassMEguide

So I've been testing a few different BW, I bought them used to see what length/# I felt comfortable with. My end game is to have one made just for me like most of you, then resell the used ones because they hold there value so well, or keep them because lets face it there pieces of art! My question is, the 62" gray bark was made in 2008 and has a gloss not frost finish to it. Also it has a Golden Anniversary emblem, but the real question is I've never seen a BW with wood at the beginning of the limbs where they bolt to the riser. (See Pic) All the other BW's I've seen look like the bow next to it in the (Pic) with the black, where they bolt into the riser. Was this a custom bow or is it something they did for the Golden anniversary, or do I have a well made fake? Also the edge of the bottom limb had a nick in it and I can scrape the finish off with my thumb nail, like its separating from the bow. I plead ignorance, any info will be much appreciated.

Your question is one that I am sure Toby, Roger, Ken or John can answer for you. If this bow has a serial#, that should be enough to bring it out to light. Give those boys a shot tomorrow morning.

the older models of that bow did not habve the Black phenolic fade outs also they had a slightly different limb shape (narrower towards the tips) also slightly faster but not as stable The PTF model today still is with out the phenolic fade outs the PTF is my favorite model of their bows, but not because of the lack of phenolic fades (lighter and balances so well) also like a one piece bow

I have always liked them better without the phenolic. Little lighter and looks better IMO

ABSOLUTELY 100% in agreement with "OBXarcher". My 60" PSA-X Ebony Black Widow was made a couple of months ago without ANY phenolic....period.

usually just the 2007 bows had that emblem.. on the phenolic, they can be ordered without it i think it looks better without it, but i like the added weight and i think there may be a durability factor as well.. .. the finish has varied throughout the years, not sure why.. i usually just spray mine with "Dulcote" anyway for a clear matte finish..
